Configuration work emphasized end to end process mapping and standard operating procedures, with product configuration aligned to support annual compensation events such as merit and incentive coordination where compensation and benefits processes intersect.
Operational integration was explicitly coordinated with the wider Workday HCM environment and with Alight as the payroll service provider, reflecting a connected operational model between Workday Benefits, HR-IT, and external payroll processing. The deployment scope covered global governance with country variations managed through consolidated e2e process flow charts, enabling consistent benefits processing across Covestro operating regions.
Governance and process ownership were formalized, with a designated Process Owner for Payroll, Compensation & Benefits responsible for global governance, UAT quality assurance, vendor management and the creation of business requirement definitions for change requests. The program included development and tracking of operational KPI’s, coordination of User Acceptance Tests, and maintenance of standard operating procedures to institutionalize benefits administration practices across the enterprise.
