In 2006 Harley-Davidson implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as an ERP Financial platform, with Infosys engaged as the systems integrator and sustaining partner. The implementation established SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the primary transactional backbone for finance and as an integration hub for manufacturing execution and supply chain processes.
Configuration work focused on core ERP Financial capabilities, including FI and CO functional scope such as General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, alongside configuration for cost accounting and intercompany financial flows. The program also included deployment and integration of SAP ME, MII and SCM to extend shop floor data capture and orchestration into the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 landscape.
The technical architecture leveraged DB2 on AIX with DB2 HADR and TSA and HACMP clustering for high availability, and implemented FlashCopy Manager, FlashCopy backups and FlashClone cloning for rapid environment provisioning, with a PureScale proof of concept executed during the engagement. Infosys teams performed platform and BASIS services across AIX, AS400 and Windows environments, and applied DB2 and HANA domain expertise to support the enterprise landscape.
Operational governance emphasized standardized processes and automation, with Infosys producing common interfaces and administration scripts and provisioning sustained roles for DB2 DBAs and system administrators in the Greater Milwaukee area. The engagement successfully delivered production SAP environments with clustered DB2 availability, backup and cloning capabilities while integrating legacy AS400 applications into SAP ME and MII driven manufacturing workflows.

In 2015, Harley-Davidson implemented SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as the enterprise application for Compensation Management, targeting variable pay, merit cycles, and incentive administration within Total Rewards. The deployment focused on configuring SAP SuccessFactors Compensation functionality to support structured merit and incentive workflows and centralized compensation governance across HR and finance stakeholders.
The implementation included configuration of the SuccessFactors Compensation module, automation of Short Term Incentive Plan processing, and establishment of calculation rules for year end merit and incentive plan bonuses for Harley-Davidson Financial Services. The project team also implemented compensation reporting and analysis capabilities to support year over year merit spend and distribution review, and operationalized STIP automation workflows within the Compensation Management framework.
Operational coverage extended into HR Shared Services and payroll process areas, where the team facilitated quarterly HSA and FSA audit integration with compensation controls and managed creation of HDFS Payroll Process Documentation. The program acted as Process Lead for the SuccessFactors Recruiting Module implementation, producing a global end to end process map that aligned recruiting intake and compensation decision workflows with payroll and HR Shared Services procedures.
Governance responsibilities included serving as a project team member and process lead, creating current state documentation and recommendations for improvement, and tightening compensation calculation controls. Outcomes explicitly documented include STIP automation that produced a 97 percent accuracy payout and recognition via the HDI Continuous Improvement Black Level Award, along with formalized payroll documentation and enhanced merit spend analysis enabled by SAP SuccessFactors Compensation.

In 2006 Harley-Davidson implemented SAP Automotive as its Automotive ERP platform to standardize core business processes and provide real time visibility across its global operations. The program followed replacement of the companys financial management applications at its Milwaukee headquarters, and Infosys was engaged as the system integrator for the rollout and configuration work.
The implementation encompassed a full ERP deployment with explicit inclusion of SAPs CRM and SCM components, configured against industry standard business process templates. Workstreams focused on financial management integration, order and fulfillment process harmonization, and supply chain planning capabilities, aligned to automotive industry process models and master data consolidation to support cross functional workflows.
Integrations were scoped to unify CRM and SCM capabilities with the central SAP Automotive instance to enable consolidated operational reporting and inventory visibility across markets. The deployment was positioned as a global program to standardize transaction processing and to feed centralized visibility for planning and operations, with initial cutover activity centered at the Milwaukee site before broader regional adoption.
Governance used SAP industry templates to enforce standardized process controls and data governance, and Infosys supported template-based configuration and phased rollout governance. The stated objectives were to increase visibility of the global business and improve operational efficiency through the SAP Automotive Automotive ERP implementation.
